Re: The Schultz Hill Foundation ARTS Benefit on August 22nd, 2014 We are a unique City on the rise. Our ARTS and cultural history is significant and not adequately preserved, supported and represented to the world. We must do more. We can do more. As members of the private sector creative community, you as much as we in City government and other public stakeholders, have a vital role to play in empowering individuals, organizations and the economy through advocacy and by investing in the creation of a vibrant and dynamic ARTS district in the City of Atlantic City. We must do whatever we can to harness innate creativity to achieve greater prosperity and well-being. When we inspire each other to create, we not only live richer fulfilling personal and professional lives but can build a healthy economy and City in which we love to live. Let us make each day of the year an opportunity to create, enjoy the ARTS and prosper. In closing, I quote George Bernard Shaw “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last, you create what you will.” Through the ARTS we can build a true destination City and one that we imagine for residents, the community and the economy- today and into the future. I believe these are aspirations worth supporting. Best wishes to you all and to John and Gary- thank you for your long history of unwavering commitment to the ARTS in our City. To the rest of you gathered here, thank you for your support of the Schulz – Hill Foundation for the ARTS and Education. |
